Barbara joined Pivotal Life Sciences in 2023 as a biostatistician to build software to help Pivotal’s team gain insights from clinical trials. Barbara was previously an FDA statistical reviewer at the Center for Drugs, and a Senior Vice President at the medtech digital health company Canary Medical. Additionally, Barbara co-founded a clinical trials AI software company acquired by Medidata in 2014. Barbara has over 25 years of experience in clinical research in the pharma, diagnostic and medical device industries. She has led data science teams to validate algorithms for the world’s first smart knee, and created software that Moderna used to expedite the covid-19 vaccine studies. Barbara is currently a part-time lecturer at the UC Berkeley Extension school. Barbara earned her Master’s in biostatistics from Harvard University School of Public Health, and her BS from Vassar College.
